Ditchingham village, Norfolk

The south Norfolk village of Ditchingham is 2 miles north of Bungay, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Ditchingham lies by the River Waveny and within the Broads National Park and is famous for being the home of author, Sir H. Rider Haggard. He wrote the novels ‘King Solomon’s Mines’ in 1885, ‘She’ in 1887 and ‘Eric Brighteyes’ in 1891. Ditchingham church, St Mary, was built in part during the late 15th century and has an imposing tower that is visible for miles around.
