Arminghall village, Norfolk

A village situated around 3 miles south east of Norwich with a pretty church named St Mary. In 1929 Gilbert Insall discovered a prehistoric timber circle and henge monument near the village whilst taking aerial photographs of the area in the search for new archaeological sites. The site was named Norwich Woodhenge, and it was not until 1934 that Grahame Clark excavated the site and discovered that it dated back to the Neolithic period.
